What the hell is “Jumping the Shark,” anyway?
Saw a commercial today from a local pool, spa, and billiards place, advertising “Texas Holdem Poker Tables.” They’re not really any different than the round poker tables that have been in basements and rec rooms for years, with the chip trays in the rail, but now they’re “Texas Holdem Poker Tables.” Nothing like jumping on a bandwagon. (Actually, my guess is that the owner, or maybe their adman, actually plays. I should invite him to my home game. Oh yeah, I don’t have a home game.)
